I would like to tell you a bit more about how I started Hidden Agenda Lingerie in Botley and why I am so passionate about lingerie.
In 2007, nearly 13 years ago, I took the plunge and left a corporate position to start my own business. I was lucky, I had a pension to invest, so began looking for commercial premises, finding an established lingerie shop trading inside a gorgeous listed building. The business idea was hatched, so although I didn’t go ahead with the original shop, I knew I wanted to help ladies with their lingerie so I found my lovely premises in Botley, Southampton.
Hidden Agenda was born, located in a village, close to the largest Marks & Spencer in the county, I knew I had to offer something unique, something different, something better to my customers. Fitting is what we are all about, our products are gorgeous and totally support the ethos of what we do, but the expertise in fitting our customers is at the heart of what we offer
We love our customers, old and new, who continue to support us by shopping locally time and time again – over 8000 of you, some of whom have bought from us over 50 times in the 13 years. We hope we are doing something worth coming back for, we think we are!!
Back to our passion, lingerie styling. Its easy to come to work knowing we will be surrounded by so many gorgeous items, we really should thank the brands that we stock for supporting us throughout. Prima Donna lingerie, Marie Jo, Empreinte, Fantasie, Elomi, Wacoal, Louisa Bracq and many many more. We choose and wear everthing we buy personally, because if we wear it we can recommend it knowing it will work, suiting your figure, style and most importantly your bust.
I was lucky to be joined by my Manager Sharon in 2007, and so we have over 26 years of fitting experience between us. Sharon has a remarkable eye and knowledge for the products available in the market. She will find you the right thing if we don’t have it in stock, trust her, she knows what will work for you and can advise on any bust shape or problem
We are mastectomy and maternity trained too, so if you are experiencing changes in your shape for any reason we want to help
13 years on, what does the future hold for Hidden Agenda in Botley? Well we are here for the next 5 years for sure, recently refurbished we have reinvested in what we do and I for one cannot wait for the furture. I am still like a little girl at Christmas every time we go to buy the next season stock, and the innovations in lingerie and swimwear keep coming. I’m a bit of an eco warrior so am starting to insist on sustainable sourcing from our suppliers. We have just received a swimwear range from Lise Charmel that is made of thread which is source from recycled plastic bottles found in the Mediteranean Sea! New in this year will be vegan flip flops!!
